Yorokobu Magazine /Issue #16 cover / 2011
“The briefing for this project was to create something related to the word YOROKOBU which in Japanese means “to be happy”.
This piece has been designed using pencil and lipstick. The only digital work used was in putting together the final composition elements. The techniques used help to create a product which is spontaneous and original. A return back to my original methodology has resulted in my own interpretation of what it means to be happy.
This specific issue coincides with an important moment in expansion for YOROKOBU as their production has recently increased from 5,000 copies to an astounding 30,000. To commemorate this milestone, the magazine has included a poster of my piece. “

Wow. I’m reeling at the amount of talent contained in this one image. And if you go to his Behance page, well, it’s hard not to feel like giving up, he’s that good. But then it’s also inspiration to be even a fraction as good as this.
